This is exactly why Gen. Patton wanted to drive the Soviets back to their borders while [the West] had the advantage.
Occupied France was even allowed to retain 2/5ths of their sovereignty, while the Germans governed the other 3/5ths. Leave it to Stalin to make Hitler look humane by comparison.
