While the seven-time Tour de France champion maintains that he never used any performance enhancing drugs, official sanctions (lifetime bans) have now been handed down against three men directly linked to Armstrong’s cycling achievements.

  5. and what you seem to choose to ignore is that George Hincapie among others testified against Armstrong under oath and threat of imprisonment. Why would they lie, and tisk imprisonment? Please can you give me just one rational justification as to why a free man would risk his liberty in such a way?

The letter specifically alleges that “multiple riders with firsthand knowledge” will testify that Armstrong used EPO, blood transfusions, testosterone and masking agents, and that he distributed and administered drugs to other cyclists from 1998 to 2005. The letter alleges that numerous witnesses will testify that Armstrong also used human growth hormone before 1996.

  8. Lance and Ullrich rode up Luz Ardiden together and Lance let Ullrich pass the line first. This way Ullrich got third that stage and got some bonus seconds, which helped him get second place in the overall classification in the end of the tour. 

  9. Its famous tour de france moment.. where lance and jan ullrich gave a handshake.. I think ( just from remembering and not looking up)… that armstrong gave him the stage win since he didnt need it.. and you always dont take stages you dont need…its a unwritten rule in the peloton

  10. The race officials deemed it legal and necessary in order to avoid another crash/injury. Usually, you would be correct. Veering off the course like that is illegal. But that traverse was unintentional due to the reflexes to avoid crash. So they let it slide.

  11. The greatest years of my life………seeing Lance Armstrong race and win the Tour, previously Indurain was the best I’ve ever seen and remember seeing that stage when he blew Lance in the TT……..
